"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you." -Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)
I know pandemic can be overwhelming. It feels like there are always competing priorities, only complicated by the constant change in information we are receiving from elected officials. Parents are wrestling with choices about their children returning to school or how they are going to manage virtual learning at home. Jobs may be requiring you to now return to work. Perhaps, you’re still working from home, but the vacation you were anticipating is no longer happening. For African Americans, this season has been mentally and emotionally draining as we protest systemic racism and injustice in our communities and the nation.
It can all be too much and it can rob us of the peace we need to navigate this season. The Word of God tells us that God keeps our mind in perfect peace when our minds are fixed on Him. When we remain focused on God, God ensures that we have peace we need to claim the victory we have been guaranteed in every situation. God ensures that though we are working to endure, we do not have to endure with a chaotic mind. He keeps our minds together, when we focus on Him, because it’s an indication to God that we trust Him completely.
Regardless of what you may be experiencing today, stay focused on God. Remain faithful to seeking God through His word and in prayer. It is the key to managing your mind and emotions. Staying focused on God grows your faith, builds your trust in Him, and secures your peace of mind. You can make it; God has guaranteed your success. I pray you experience the PEACE of God.
